We are seeking an Assistant Estimator to work alongside our Senior Estimator on current projects in our North East & Scotland region.

This is a full time, permanent role, ideally 40 hours over 5 days per week, based at our Rainton Bridge office.

Duties of the Role:

• Providing support to the Senior Estimator.
• Successful integration within the pre-construction Team, becoming a recognised member of the Estimating Department.
• Involvement in tender process from start to finish, attending start up and settlement meetings.
• Supporting other members of the team to achieve successful tender submissions.
• Completion of ‘in-house’ Estimators basic data training.
• Completion of ‘in-house’ measurement training.
• Producing well-presented and defined trade package comparison schedules.
• Liaising with internal Buying Department for material costs.
• Aspiring to the very highest standards of quality, service and business performance, ensuring clients are satisfied.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Preferable, previous experience within an estimating environment.
• Mathematics bias with an interest in problem solving.
• Methodical approach to work, with a keenness for detail.
• Ability to work autonomously or within a team.
• Good understanding of the Microsoft Office software suite, with particular regard to Excel.
• Experience of using estimating software, currently Conquest.
• Experience of using measurement software, currently Bluebeam and Kubla Cubed.
• Good communication skills.
